CV
Skate Jawn is a skateboarding magazine founded in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 2010 by Marcus Waldron. Skate Jawn produces a bimonthly magazine as well as a yearly photo issue. Skate Jawn releases video content and premieres skate videos via its website.
I created a series of original illustrations for Skate Jawn, that would go on to be put in production for a t-shirt, distributed online.
Inspired by “slamming”, a term coined from falling off your board, really hard – the artwork blended raw moments through hand-drawn detail, complementing the magazine’s DIY spirit and visual storytelling. The Handrail was the one selected from the series which added a unique artistic layer to the publication, resonating with its community of skaters and creatives.
